i got one of these little guys and find that it is a very high rever. it revs at 4200 at 70 kph (45mph). it top speed is only about 110kph (68 mph). it takes a while for it to get to 70kph aswel. does anyone else find this or is there a problem with mine? saw some place where there is a turbo in these 660cc jnrs but mine doesnt seem to have one. |

hello rorymac, welcome to the club . i have a 1.1 jnr, my speedo hasnt worked for ages but when it was working doin 70mph meant screamin the hell outta the engine, i got it up to 90 mph once down a very large hill and that took revs to red line. now iv fitted larger tyres for better offroading it revs out to red line at about 70mph. what size wheels and tyres you got on it? my spare is a 14inch & the other 4 are 15inch . im runnin 205 75s which defo changes its gearing, it originally had 205 70s which were on it when i got 90mph out of it. as for turbos iv only heard a few people say about them in paj minis but iv never seen one in a jnr. |

hello mate. im no wheel or tyre expert but your problem may be down to havin 16 inch wheels, iv checked out specs on some juniors on a jap auction site and they are all running 15 inch wheels. i had the same prob with a vw polo that i put 16inch wheels on, looked good but slow as s#*t. it may be worth taking it to a tyre place and ask or hopefully some else will read this and shed some light. my mot has just run out so jnr is gonna spend winter being striped and fixed, have got a list as long as my arm, dead clutch ,snapped exhaust mounts, no speedo, bent front suspension, knackered radiator and power steering pump, the list goes on. ( i really should be more careful whilst offroading ) and yeah jnr could do with another gear, i find myself selecting 5th twice. |

Boy its been a long time since I've been in here.. and some activity on the Jnr Post
The missus's pajero junior which is a 1.1, does 90kmh (around 55mph) without any problems. The revs does go pretty high tho, somewhere around the 4000/4500 range. Daren't go any faster.
The thing is with this car, is that its not made for speed, and it something you have to live with. |
