|
|
Has anyone else ever had this problem.. over the last week ive noticed my brakes starting to bind and yesterday it was getting ridiculous..
Before we went to Filey i had new rears and fully lubricated them etc, since we got back they have been getting gradually worse.
Today i stripped them down .. all four corners and could not believe the state they were in, Especialy the fronts, all moving parts were covered and on the verge of siezure...
Is this a regular occurance with off roading or was i just unlucky ?
All done and Brilliant now though.. |

brakes are what stop you from running into something/someone, so should always be cleaned after off-roading
Filey mud was very high clay content, which will set hard when it dries, and can cause allsorts of probs
glad you got it sorted |

I was lucky! I went to Filey, but I knew of the problems with the mud, so I didn't use my brakes! (always thinking ya see) 8) |

even if you have rear discs you also have a drum so to speak, with shoes that are applied by the hand break. |

i run a 20 year old mk1 shogun do not ask for pic cos if you could see my old tub you would ask me to leave.
but it can be seen crossing the lake at frikley on there web site
sory i forgot that newer mods have rear discs do the sites you run on have jet washers on site if so give all the discs a good blast
