ATF level too high?

I checked the ATF level today whilst it was cold and it was sitting in between the 'Hot' marks. I haven't had a chance to check it whilst hot yet but would it be reasonable to say it was overfull?!!

How can I empty some of the oil out?

and could this be part of the reason why it won't change into 4th gear when cold?

The level should be checked with the engine running! Wink Which is why it looks over-full! Wink

The 'Overdrive' (4th gear) won't engage until the whole thing is warm enough! There is a temp sender to tell it when to start using it! Very Happy
