Guys (& dolls),

I was driving to work this morning and due to the quality of London commuters, was stuck in a jam for two hours. The outside temp gauge started reading in the region of 25/26 C but the engine temp gauge was half way, as it always is.

Question is:-

Where is the outside temp gauge? Assuming it is near the engine bay somewhere, is it picking up the heat from the engine, but the engine wasn't overheating (according to the engine temp gauge) Question

I await your wise words...

Hello
The sensor is on the left side inside the Bumper in the near of the Water Radiator. Therefore during slow travel the Temparatur is wrongly indicated.
Greetings

Peter

The external temp sensor is behind the front bumper LHS (below headlight i think) so in slow/still traffic the heat from the engine will eventually have an effect. Also if you were close to the car in front then the exhaust gas Embarassed can contribute to the rise in temp.
