Poor old Tone! And what's Big John going to do with himself? If he hasn't got a job, he won't have any female staff to interfere with!

An ex-colleague of mine was caught speeding by a camera, but he got off.

The road had been a 50mph road for years, and the local council decided to reduce it to 40 mph. They removed the old signs and put up some new 40 mph instead. There was a lane that entered the road, but at this point there were no signs indicating the speed limit of the road, and the camera was sited between this lane and the next sign. He took photographic evidence to show that there were no speed signs to indicate the speed of the road, and as far as he was aware, the road was a 50 mph road. The judge threw it out, due to poor sign posting...... the local council quickly put up signs to stop it from happening again.

Is it the local police or the local councils that get the speed cameras/camera vans posted in certain areas? Someone told me not too long ago, that the local councils benefit from the funds raised from their endevours.
