Now, here's a bit of a story that makes me chuckle ...
At some point on Saturday, the campsite manager came round, looking for a Rally Manager ..as I didn't know what one was, I said that I would do ..!
He basically begged if we would allow a "family group" to camp in one corner of our field as they were regulars and had been disturbed the night before due to some gipseys ..... i said yes, so long as they were a "family" and didn't cause any problems - then i drove round site, and let a few folks know, so that Brownie and Hayley knew what was going on, as gatekeepers !!
We then went out for a drive ...
on our return ... Brownie and Hayley were in discussion with some other members, about the said "family" and gave me the evils !! i asked what the problem was, and it turned out that the "family" were actually more inter-related than we thought, and swearing, cussing etc etc ... such that Tony and Mal saw fit to retreat to the bouncy castle !!..
I immediately said lets get this sorted, and asked Brownie to jump into the deli to go to reception ....that levelled the suspension out ...
we wandered into reception, and i told the man, in no uncertain terms that they either sort out their ways, or they have 35 4wd's bearing down on them ....
brownie added that we were the mild mannered ones, and when the rest of the crew returned, it could get nasty ..... the man duely came down, and warned the family to behave, and as far as i know we had no more issues ....
ok .. not that funny ?
look at it from the campsite managers view .......
oh pap - tweedle dee and tweedle dum have just told me that their bigger and nastier mates are gonna run the hillbillies out unless they behave ...

Sorry this is a bit late, bin a bit busy since we got back.
What a fantastic weekend, certainly helped by having very good weather for most of it, not that the rain on Sunday really put a dampener on things.
Banahm was definitely a good choice of venue, the area we we're in was perfect, plenty of room for everything & very clean and tidy.
A big thanks to all those involved in organising this event it was a credit to the club. It's success can only lead to better things, as has been mentioned previously, an all clubs meet with the organisation this good can only be a winner.
Really nice to see some of the people we've met before & to finally put some more names to faces.
As Gaz has said, we finished off the week in Yarmouth. The weather wasn't really that bad, luckily the rain was mainly through the night & it was quite warm. The kids loved the beach, so much we couldn't keep them away from it.
Looking forward to MM08. |
