Hi
I fitted a towbar to my pajero without any problems with the help of a few wiring tips
I now need to fit one to my new sport
The fitting should be easy enough but any tips on how to run the wires
Regards

Hi Al - Use a Mitsi wire harness, they plug into the rear light clusters, but you also have to run wire to the battery, just run it along o/s of car under kick panels, easy to do but may take a coulpe of hours or so. |

Hi All
I was going to buy a Mitsi wiring kit for my towbar but for both plugs it worked out at about £150 so I decided to buy a standard twin wiring kit from the local trailer center £47 complete
They told me there is access to the wiring loom under the rear seats but nothing is jumping out at me can anyone confirm they are correct or do I need to get into the back lights??
Regards

Hi Waynec
After going to the mitsi dealer I realise I need another part for the 2nd plug comes in about £150 altogether so I have decided to buy a standard kit instead £47 for everthing
Do you know if there is access to the wiring loom under the rear seats or do I need to pick up a feed from behind the rear lights
Many Thanks

Hi Al - the wiring goes into the car thought the o/s/r light lense and behind the trim - remove the trim and should see the wiring. |

I fitted a towbar to my 3.2 paj yesterday I bought the OEM Mitsi kit and paid only £183 (got a £22 discount on retail) for towbar and dedicated wiring kit £80 for the towbar and £100 for the wiring loom.
The only issue I had was that the wiring loom was way off I have a 99 Paj and the loom stated 2001 on Paj, as I couldn't be hassled to return it due to the fact my MRS is towing horses today and I'm off to a bike trackday soon i had to strip it and start from scratch.
If you are thinking of fitting the bar yourself to the 3.2 bear in mind that the air-con unit under the OSR wheel arch will have to be dropped to mount the side plates and the Mitsi wiring kit may not fit.
I started the job at 12pm yesterday had the bar fitted in about 1,1/2 hours and after stripping most of the OSR interior and trouble shooting the wiring which incidentally comes with no wiring diagram just vague instructions and losing my rag then deciding to make my own loom out of the one I had finished the job at 9.30 - 10pm last night. I'm no expert at wiring but doing everything step by step I managed to get the job done right altho i must admit i have no relays or indicator buzzer connected yet due to lack of time.
If you want my advice people if you can guarantee the right loom go for it otherwise get the job done professionally or build your own, last time I waste £100 on a loom altho the connectors came in handy to make the job neat and the joints that i couldn't use the connectors on were soldered so no connectors to corrode. 9.5 hrs to fit a towbar is excessive altho I recon I can do it in 3-4 tops next time. I off to find a wiring diagram to fit the relays. |

Hi
I have fitted the towbar and my 12N plug no problem although I have not connected the fog light as I didnt understand the instructions for that
I did all that in my garage but as I cant open the side doors fully I need to fit my 12S plug when it stops raining and I can put the sport on the road
Had no problems just took my time
