Hi too all who attended the meet,
The 560 mile round trip was worth it to meet you all and see such a beautifull side of English country side that ive never seen before. Missed out on Langdale on saturday but enjoyed laneing on Sunday. Didnt say much during BBQ but you all seemed like a nice bunch. Didnt find the site very nice ie: smelly swimming pool, *beep* caravan ( when we paid £250.00 for a Prestige and got what looked like a standard ) but never mind maybe next time ill buy a tent. Thanks for makeing us all feel welcome.

I am a member of FFOC ( no. 04469) ...Did you know the plural of Focus is Foci, I've learnt a few, more useful things since joining and saved a few quid too. Average age of the members seems lower than on here. Get some interesting threads on their forum about being dumped by the girlfriend and the occasional "there's this girl I fancy , should I speak to her ?" thread. Makes me happy I'm too old for all that They have some very good resources available to members. but my Focus is only transport......Mitsi is FUN.
As for Billing, I've been there a couple of times, but only as a day visitor. I've never stayed there as it less than 50miles from home. It strikes me as well appointed and well organised. Catering was good too, last time I was there. I suspect statics would be expensive during school holidays, but I think I'd want to try my tents out, if good weather could be arranged again |

Now, now ladies and gents, let's not have anyone knocking good old Fords..... I have a lovely XR2i parked on my drive.....
Billing Aquadrome would be great for a MM.
I have already been in touch with them about trying to organise an XROC meet there next year.
Billing currently charge £16 per night for large group bookings which is a £3 reduction on their nightly rate of £19. When they know how many people you have coming they allocate you an area within the park and reserve it for you.
One thing I was told when I enquired about a meet was that they may have to introduce a "ground rent" charge for organised events, however, I was told that if the numbers were sufficient, this charge would be waived. I wasn't given any firm indication as to how many "sufficient numbers" would be as they hadn't decided whether or not the charge would be brought in.
I am sure if the meet was open to all Yellow Diamonders..... it would be a huge meet!

I've just got back from Filey, and I must say I loved it.
The only problem as I saw it was that the static folks were too far away from things and we weren't even together, but all in all that didn't detract from a great meet.
BTW, I didnt find the pool smelly at all, and I spend 4 sessions in it! |
