Has anyone got a link to a manual for the electrolux rm270 caravan fridge?
Mine made a nasty smell of ammonia inside and promptly expired. Is there a way to repair it, or is it best to look for a good second hand one? Inside the fridge (mostly in German) are some details about it. Amongst the details is "absorber NH3" which no doubt has to do with the ammonia smell I got in it.
Any advice would be much appreciated.

Hi Hugh. Thats an old fridge mate Laughing
They have now been replaced by 'Dometic'.

I would say that your absorbtion unit is caput. The smell is a solution of water and ammonia used to absorb ("absorber NH3") the heat in the fridge and bring the temperature down.  Wink

Probably best to visit/call a caravan breakers and see what they have to offer Wink

I was thinking it was a dead one, the smell and all that. Sometimes though you can be pleasantly surprised at what is fixable when you know how. Not this time!
A new fridge is more than I paid for the caravan, so it will be a breakers job I agree. I will look around and see what is available.
