|
|
Hi Peeps,
Along our drive it's very snowy and extremely slippy. So I decided to shove it in to low diff lock (automatic box). The light flashed and then went off...I though...hmm...then tried to move it back into regular 4x4...now can't move the transfer lever at all...completely stuck can't get it out of 4x4. I think it's just in normal 4x4 (no diff light).
Never happened before...any tips?!
Cheers

You have to remove the center console, some screws in the bottom of the arm est thingy, some at the back, and sides etc, get that out the way, and you will see the bottom of the selector, there is a pin through it, this jumps out and jams up, push it back home, all sorted.
have fun |

Doing it now John, just got the trasfer lever top housing off. Looking in at two levers split in half with like a round thick gauge piece of wire/dowel going through the middle of them. It looks odd and I'm not sure what to do next? Just try and put it back together???

My problem is which side of the two slots do I put it back into? I'm guessing because it's stuck in 4H it'll be the right one looking from above and towards the bonnet?

John, it works. Just put the lot back together. About 1.5hrs job in the end. Cold feet now. But all working again.
I took off the 3 bolts around the selector by mistake. You need to take the 4 off the top to the compartment. Simpley then put it back on feeling the lever in to place. You can even hold the plate in place and make sure it is selecting. Then put the lot back together. Pain in the *beep*, but a no cost DIY solution.
Thanks for all the advice fellas!
