Fuel pump electrical problem

I have a gas conversion shogun, the fuel system was shot but it started fine on gas, since the cold weather arrived I needed petrol to start it but the powerline from the fuel pump when connected just produces a clicking from the passenger footwell, can anyone help please?

have you tryed filling the pump or sucking the fuel into the fuel pump as it sounds its running dry
