hi all not been here for a long time need some advice engine wise .the story so far was towing my caravan up the moter way with my w reg l200 cyp import when the top hose blew i boiled it dry got it home via relay green flag now it wont start .sounded like there was no compresion so have took the head off to change the gaskit but have been told to replace the piston rings. i leveled the pistons and droped some diesle in the bores it had run through in 20 mins the back pots more than the front .
question will the sump come off without engine removal

so i can push pistons up to change the rings

question will a 2.5 or 2.8 lump drop straight in if i can get one cheap enough from an old pajero
no ecu or any of that stuff
your thoughts and advice gratfully received
