i have had mine blanked off for nearly three years, never had an issue, some my customers have had it done for longer with no issues... i have also done this to many other vehicles without any problem.

electro galvanic corrosion Smile

the stainless is cathodic, compared to the aluminum alloy of the block which is an anode, use of a decent jointing compound should stop them from fighting.

So much back and forth with this EGR...
I just unplugged the vacuum pipe from the valve and stuffed the pipe with a screw.
Done and dusted!
All works great, more responsive and fun.

So: Why bother blanking Question

its on to do that if the egr is closed, but if it's stuck open when you pull and stuff the pipe it will cause black smoke and could be worse than before,!!  it all depends on what position the egr is in when the pipe is pulled, i've done this mod many times as its easier than blanking but sometimes it does not work, you were lucky!!
