Wvo and bio eat rubber. Sad
The change over was about 1994 to none edible rubber Smile  pleas correct me if i am wrong.
I am making my 1 st batch of bio as we speak.
Photos and progress will follow.
If you make bio it is still worth putting a heater in, depends what stock you make the bio out of & gives you the option to use WVO / SVO
Evan diesel has a gel point.

I've run on 100% homebrew bio year round with no heat exchanger and no starting problems. Made from good quality wvo (1.5 tritration) with little or no animal fats. If the wvo stays liquid out in the cold, the end product does too.

On the pump seals, my 94 truck ran on bio for 23 months without a problem (was then written off in an accident), 95 truck developed serious pump seals problem within 3 months of using bio (tell tale airlock every morning, followed by engine oil in fuel filter), current (also 95) truck has only been on it 2 weeks and has so far had 1 blocked fuel filter and developed a knock.
