|
|
Hi guys
Got a few questions again.
It stinks of diesel in the cab,
Is it most likely to be the injectors? If so are they a sod to fit? and where can I get them from?

| sounds like you have a diesel leak probably by the filter.try finding it first before you spend on injectors. |

they might be leaking, or need a refurb. go to www.dieselbob.co.uk
also might be a split or loose diesel pipe |

| My old 2.5 had that problem, and as already mentioned, it turned out to be one of the injectors..... it wasn't the injector that was faulty though. The copper washer was leaking, and needed a bit of heat to get it to seal properly again. |

Ive got a leaking injector as well, i am just about to have a look at what the problem might be.
When you say it needed a bit of heat do you mean you took the washer to one side and heated it to cherry red to get it back to a soft(ish) state again ? |

Definitely looks like you've got a fuel pipe or injector leaking there.
The blanked off bit is the EGR, theres loads of posts about blanking the EGR so make a coffee, do a search and get some reading done. That way you can decide for yourself whether you want to leave it blanked off or get it working again (personally I'd go for the latter but theres plenty of differing opinions on that score) |

I would be tempted to remove the pipe and clean everything up, replace any seals you find, refit and see from there.
Removing the pipe should be fairly straight forward, disconnect both ends and any brackets its attached too, being careful you dont bend the pipe and crack it though cause it may be a little bit brittle if its really old. |
