Omn my 95 nj 2.8tdi . I wound up the boost from 8-9 psi to 11/-12psi with a bleed valve. was going for 14psi except manifold pressure relief valve kept going off at approx 13psi.
I've heard of people swapping in the pressure relief valve from the earlier 2.5td motors due to being set to 20psi from factory? is this true?
Failing that anyone used a blanked off bung from a plumbling store? what size bung did you use? |
Did you find an answer to your question? I'm looking for pointers for my 94 Delica 2.8tdi... |
Couldn't get any confirmation on the 2.5td overboost valve being preset for 20psi.
so went to my local plumbing store and got a brass plug the same thread as the original. |

If your bumping is as good as your boosting you won't be doing too bad. |

|
|
I saw one guy post 20 years diesel tuning experience. I would LOVE to get a definitive answer for maximum safe boost on a basically stock, but very well maintained, 4M40 engine with 200k kilometers. I increased fuel supply by turning the diaphragm about 140 degrees. Full, straight-through, 2.5" stainless exhaust and shimmed the waste gate 3mm. Already installed ETG, boost gauge and extra temp gauge. THANK YOU!! |
