As with many fuel alternatives, they will work in an older technology engine, after all, these liquids just have to flow into the pump, be metered out into the injectors, and burn under compression, running the engine.
That's not difficult, but for how long will the whetted parts last ? And finally the rings and bores ?
How is the performance and efficiency, maybe even in the short term it may not be so low cost.
For me, not with a barge pole.

kerosene has very little lubrication compared to veg oil, biodiesel so it wont do your pump any good and if you get stopped and found out your in big poo poo

Indeed - it's illegal to use as a road fuel, end of story. Get caught with it in your tank and you're in for a big fine and your vehicle will be crushed. Stick to using it to heat your house or as lamp fuel.
The reasons for this are that kerosene does not burn cleanly in the conditions in an internal combustion engine, and there are some big issues to do with self ignition and spillage cleanup. Whilst petrol also suffers from similar environmental issues, it's been used as a road fuel for so long that it's very heavily regulated and the risks are well known. Of course, a more refined version of kerosene is legal to use as a fuel in aircraft (ie jet fuel), but a jet engine is a very different beast to an iron block 1970s diesel engine Also aircraft aren't allowed to drive on public roads.
Plus WVO is cheaper anyway... |

And kerosene exhaust smells, and leaves a blue smoke trail. Every one will know what your running on. Lots of this in Africa, lots of demand for engines too. |

It has no lubricating properties so it will *beep* the fuel system. Also it ignites under less compression so you loose power. |
