Unfortunately, the girl racer in me has taken over again!! Rolling Eyes
Does anyone know of any "basic" engine mods for my 2.8 TDi?
When I owned my turbo, you could get things like air filters, dump valves etc and I just wondered if anything like this would be available for my new toy!

Any info welcome!

all the same sort of stuff is available for your paj,you just dont get the same level of performance with the upgrades! your truck weighs nearly 2 tons and is as aerodynamic as a well thrown housebrick. the best performance upgrade available is get rid of the 2.8 and buy a 3.5 Twisted Evil .no shortage of performance there Wink

James, ordered from frogs island 4x4 at abingdon, it took 12 weeks for it to come from aus (out of stock) cost £270, instructions said 80 mins to fit Shocked it took 2 of us 2 hours, it is simple to fit if you have a 86mm hole saw all other tools are what we all have at home.
Anyway you will see it sunday at devils pitt,

Derek, I would have LOVED to buy an Evo Paj Razz (just to prove a point to my blokes mate who has a standard Cosworth!) Twisted Evil but unfortunately, I was about 10-15k short!!! Crying or Very sad but that is the next car I plan to get!
I have heard you can get dump valves for diesels, but not sure if it'll look good, but what about induction kits, or air filters? not sure about snorkels?

In an Evo Pajero u'd certainly give the Cosworth a good go if not take him Wink Very Happy

Dump valve's can be got for diesel's alrite personally don't really see the point tho, better on a turbo'd car!

Filter's can be got HKS being the most popular on this site i'd say.

Take a look in the Evo section of the site plenty of tip's in there.

Hope that help's ya?

I prefer APEXi air filters. You need not change the filters from time to time like other brands. And they're the best (among Blitz, HKS, K&N) in term of filtering and power boost.

The best thing to to to a 2.8 is get a higher flow air filter to start with and get a diesel specialist to adjust the diesel pump, Ive had this done to mine and it makes a remarkable difference.
You can also increse the boost pressure but you will need to uprate the MAP safety valve on the inlet manifold to an aftermarket item and then use a bleed valve to raise the boost but be carefull not to go too far and blow the head gasket.
