Thank u for ur kind message of support fay, i cannot reply via that way cause i have not done several posts, now after reading your question just i was under the impression it was only called the Pajero Mini i thought the Pinnin was a completely different model, this is how little i obviously know lol.

I think i will take it to halfords and see what products they advise me using and where they go  Smile

You could do much worse!

The Mini Pinnin, as I understand it, is a small size pajero with a 2litre engine and goes like stink,(fast), the Junior is even smaller and was built to fit into the Japanese Kei car size (It has  much lower taxation if it qualifies, under 660cc and a tiny body size) then they add all sorts of gadgets  to the engine to squeeze a huge amount of power out it , and while they had that frame they put a few 1100cc engines in for export.

Find the right person even at Halfords, not the one with the pimples who will not be sure but will not admit it, and they might even guide you through what to check and how. It really isn't difficult, blokes can do it, and our Queen did it during the war! it is just a question of pulling a couple of sticks out of a couple of tubes, looking at the end to see if it is wet or not and pouring the right  amount of the right gunk in the right hole.

There is quite a good thread in the main forum about oil and the difference between 10w-40 and 5w-40 and stuff. It's quite logical once somebody has put it into plain English.

Stick with it!

Fay

I have got it booked in with a man that can for a service so im gonna pick his brains for next time, the oil change and air filter is actually working out cheaper with the professional doing it, I have also been in touch with my local Dealer and they have answered a few questions which was very kind of them as most dealers wont as they want your business.

Its a cracking little motor and very rare in the UK, im managing to translate japanese sites via google and stumble by lol

Thanks fay for your help and support.

Hi everybody,
just bought a Pajero Mini not Junior, here in Dublin. Its the 660cc. Any experts out there that you guys could recommend? The idle speed is too high and they failed me on the NCT because of this. Seems like nobody I talk to is familiar with this particular vehicle. Any help or advice would be really helpful

Thanks
Mike

New Pajero owner signing up! Very Happy
Proud owner of a 1996 Pajero Mini VR-II Manual Transmission
Mine is NOT located in UK or Ireland, rather in Finland!
It's the only one up here and by my knowledge the only one in all the Nordic countries!

I'm fairly sure that Ireland outnumber the UK when it comes to Jnr owners on here. Well done, it's a first!

Mine is Pajero Mini VR-II 20valve DOHC 660cc with Turbo & Intercooler, plus 5 speed manual gearbox.
I've never seen another one with this combination of engine and gearbox!, been told its the only one in Ireland.
Was originally brought from Japan to UK in 2006. Went up Slievenamon in it recently, what a buz!...check out my youtube vid.

I just last month took delivery of a 1999 Pajero Mini 650cc turbo, 5 speed manual shift, part-time 4WD.

I live in NW London.

It is a great little car to drive around town, very nippy, and so short and easy to park.

I bought it via a Japanese auction specialist called Algy's Autos.

Anyone know where I can find and English version of an owner's manual for it?

On my Pajero mini, the idle also seems high when I start it from cold, but it seems to settle down to just below 1000rpm when it has warmed up a bit.
