|
|
Does anyone tow with a shorty 2.5, we're in the market for a new truck and have found a mint 2.5 SWB going cheap. Before I dive in and buy it I need to know what there like to tow with, not really bothered about mpg as we've just got rid of a V6 . Would appreciate some quick responses if possible. Thanx, Adam. |

got one myself and pulls a car trailer with no probs. Admit, a 2.8 would be better, but 2.5 is up for it! mines also auto, and think its better for towing than a manual, especially something like a horse box, much smoother change.... |

hi adam.
2.5 will tow ok but it depends what you tow, my mate was towing a 19ft van with a freelander, well within the weight limit, when a lorry went past the van started to snake and being a swb the car couldn't hold it and he wrote both his brand new van and car off, he now has a new van and a lwb car.
cheers John... |

my 2.5 manual tows a horse box, a caravan, has towed a trailer with a lwb paj on it......and does it all with ease, just need to get a run up some of the longer hills, but many vehicles are the same from that pont of view.
(ps...i used to tow a horse box and caravan with a 1.4 volvo 340, so a paj can do it!!) |
