Most cars recommend that the rear tyres are inflated slightly when towing a caravan. I have always pumped up my rear car tyre pressures as the handbook recommends.
Does anyone know if this is the case with a Paj, or do people just leave them alone. |

There is a slight increase on the rear tyre loading when you are towing - but only what the noseweight of the caravan is. To be honest the extra downweight is barely noticeable to the rear wheels, and so you shouldn't need to increase the pressures. However, may be worth a try to see if it handles better or is less susceptible to side winds, buffeting from trucks etc. |

I usually have the noseweight of the van at 75kg (about 10 stone) which is about right for my car. I understand that the Paj can handle a noseweight limit of about 100kg.
The rear tyre pressures are set at 30psi so I think I'll leave them at that. |

The original handbook states that the rears need to be at 40psi when fully loaded or when towing.
Solo pressure is 30psi all round.
Don't forget that noseweight is a static measurement, this will increase greatly whilst driving and encountering 'pitching' |

Better get myself an electric pump because it took me ages to increase the pressure by 5 psi the other day with a foot pump!
Do any of you caravanners actually increase and decrease the tyre pressures when you tow? |

Yeah I'm the same as you Nobby. Approx 2psi increase on the rears and I'm pulling a fairly heavy TA with all the kids toys in......... |

I run at 30 all round normally, and 33 all round when towing.
It works for me (mind you I've usually got the disco in the motor when travelling to a meet!!!)

Sure this is in the owners manual, and just think you’ll be supporting the club at the same time.

Should say on the door sill? If you have bigger than stock tyres, the pressure will be lower. I run 24psi with 32"s |
