Hi,
I've posted the question separately but wondered if you know whether Mitsubishi fitted the same twin-pot front caliper to both Shogun and Pajero? |

Thanks Fest - a couple of on-line suppliers seem to suggest that - in fact, one supplier I have looked at in the last 30 seconds indicates the following as having a common front caliper fitted:
PAJERO 2.8TD V46 LWB 1993 to 2000
PAJERO 2.8TD V26 SWB 1993 to 2000
SHOGUN 2.8TD V26 SWB 1994 to 2000
SHOGUN 2.8TD V46 LWB 1994 to 2000
SHOGUN 2.5TD V24 SWB 1991 to 2000 (NOT PAJERO)
SHOGUN 2.5TD V44 LWB 1991 to 2000 (NOT PAJERO)
DELICA 2.8TD PD8W, PE8W & PF8W 1994 to 2000
So, I think that's sorted out! Hopefully!! |

Excelent Post, my front near side brake caliper has been seizing lately, the rubber gaiter has almost completely disintergrated, I decided to buy a second hand one from Ebay, Mitzy Bits. When it arrived it was almost in the same state as the one I was replacing from the car, one of the pistons was completely seized and again the gaiter was torn. I managed to free the seized piston, and it kinda works, but not impressed with the state of it, The only good thing is that I can still use the paj, (carefully) whilst I refurb the original one.
Your post will help tremendously. |

Do the front calipers fit on the back or do mounts need to be modified?? |

Please tell me you didn't really do that, have you any idea what WD40 can do to rubber? |
Indeed! Although the makers say it is OK on rubber, it would be advisable to keep mineral oils away from brake parts. Always use brake fluid (vegetable oil based). |

great thread mate.
can I just add a little bit of advise to free your seized piston.
pour boiling water over the calliper.
been doing this for many years, and its never failed to work.

Silly question but the different slider pins, how do you know which one goes where, mine has been played with by previous owner I just put new discs all round and the near side front was binding, so I will be taking the slider bolts out but I want to make sure I get them in right as I don't really think a lot of his mechanical ability if you know what I mean .
thanks in advance , great write up by the way |

pretty sure unless carrier has been drilled to clean them out then the one with the
rubber tip on will only fit the bottom hole iirc ... |
