hi all, i have a 1996 2.5 shogun swb.
hopefully someone can shed some light on this. after washing my truck i notice a pool in my passenger footwell under the heater box. i have had this problem before when i went through some muddy water and if filled my heater moter with mud and stopped working, so i cleaned it an didnt think any more of it. but now it seems to be  rinning in when it rain or especially when i wash it. is there a drain that can block? if so where?
also there seems to be a bit of play in my rear axle and as i am about to service the truck with all new oils was wondering if it was worth gettinbg the diff out to check.
thanks for any comments or help in advance.

There is a mention on here about water tracking through the cill/door footplate cover may be a good idea to do a search on wet AND carpet

Leaks can be very difficult to trace.
Firstly, make sure it is water and not coolant.
If you have coolant, you almost certainly have a hole in the heater matrix.

If you have water, next job is where is it coming from?
Grommet behind battery, sunroof, windscreen, door seal, rusty hole in the bodywork.
Could be any of the above.
If you cannot determine where the leak is coming from, take out the carpets and investigate further.
Until you know where the leak is, cannot be sorted.
