Recently the battery in my key fob ran low and i replaced it. i kept the other fob to se whilst i bought new batteries. i have replaced the batteries however both fob keys have no effect on locking/unlocking the car. The car is a mitsubishi shogun 2002 equippe. the remote is two circular buttons, with one of them a little bigger (this is the button to unlock and lock the car) the re light in between them works when you press the button but has no effect on the car. could someone please advise me on how to reprogram the fobs

thanks in advance Smile

Do you know what type of alarm you have? Is it factory fit or aftermarket?

ive managed to find how to reprogram the fob with the system.
stand outside the car and hold both buttons for 10 seconds and then press left button, right button, left button. the indicators will flash and the key can be programme by pressing the lock button.

Buy another fob and program it as described earlier in this thread.

Don't you need the pin to add a new fob?

Not according to the posts above.

My previous truck had the same fobs and I didn't need a PIN.

Well, I can't cure this and it's doing me HEAD IN. Replaced fob batt and now the hazards go off and no central locking. The 10s key fob combo and barrel key turn isn't working. HELP

you might need to reprogram the fob do you have the pin and bullet pen thing (torpedo), if you do reprogram you need to do all your fobs and touch pen things

Hi All

I have a Mk3 Shogun, which, of course, came without any fobs or touch keys.

It has a Cobra 8185 in the usual place, and I have the serial for it, and there is a 4 digit code in the paperwork which I'm assuming is the programming PIN for this.

I've no reason to think it might not work, so I'd like to program some fobs and that for it. Here are the options as I see them:
-Get hold of some fobs/touchkeys from wherever, and use the switchey-ignition procedure to program them to my system
-Swap the alarm unit out for a different one of the same model, which has at least a touchkey programmed to it.

Has anyone had any success doing either of these?

Cheers.
