Hi guys and girls,
Has anyone else got any experience with injector cleaners? My paj has developed a nasty smoking habit and someone mentioned that putting a cleaner through it can significantly reduce the smoking, it is black smoke which suggests overfuelling rather than burning oil. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if so did it help?
Cheers

Yes, I am currently writing an article on this very subject.
If you use a cleaner than only use a slow cleaner which works over time and avoid a rapid acting cleaner for DIY use as these can cause large deposits of contaminants to fall from your injectors and potentially hole your piston, similarly; avoid professional cleaners as these are even more rapid acting and can cause more damage. Read the manufacturers website and establish the exact usage methods as some require you to drive as normal while others clearly state that you cannot put the engine under load which means you put it in and you cannot drive the vehicle, only leave it idling. |

Hi Assassin,
Thank you for your help, is there any particular cleaning fluids that you can recommend? |

STP and Wynns always work, not the cheapest but effective. |
