First thing you can do with a Paj is try to drive it like a car Smile

a LWB weighs in at over 2 ton... so each time you pull away, you have to get that 2 ton up to speed... once you get there, it has the airodynamics of a brick with a windbrake. so keeping it there also costs fuel...

even so, 18 does sound a little low. If you have changed the filters, then there are a few options.

EGR valve blanking... Some peeps report great savings by doing this, others hardly notice. Club shop sells the blanking plates and a quick search for EGR AND Blank (Keep the and in uppercase) will give you more reading than I want to write in here.

You may have the fuel mix set wrong, too much or too little can cause more diesel to be used. Again, a search for Fuel AND Adjust should bring you back some answers.

It may just be that it is better to accept the 18MPG and live with it as I have seen peeps on here spend an age trying to get better fuel consumption and never really gained much. I get approx 21 - 22 mpg out of a LWB 2.8D driving "Normally" (Well, Girly driving it) on the old 3.5 V6 Shoggy I got about 19MPG driving it like a sports car (Leaving Nova/Astra SRIs at the lights etc) and the Beemer can range from over 40Mpg on a run at a sensible speed, down to Sub 20's if I am having fun. 4x4 does between 16 - 22 mpg again depending on how I drive...
