Trying to work out how to get hazards to flash when locking/unlocking. I have two brown wires on RC unit which are for the direction lights. Can I take them to the hazard relay or would that make hazards flash when indicators are selected? Household wiring is so much simpler!

Mine is a different system but it had two wires for the indicators.

I don't think yours will be any different in how it works - just find the two wires that go to the indicators at the back of the indicator stalk and connect one wire to the left indicator and the other to the right indicator.

Am going to attempt this job today as I really should finish something that I started months ago. Remote still works a treat and an excellent mod to do.

So, bought a RCL unit worked out the wires with the chinglish provided. Now can I find the CL unit in the car? After much unplugging I found the wires. Here is an updated picture of the said wires tucked right behind fuses with barely any slack of room to fiddle! Note OP wires are different colours. Now I need to identify the correct wires to use.

All sorted and installation complete. FYI I used a piggyback fuse holder that was located around the steering Column which made things much easier. Kit was £6.50 from banggood.
Thanks to the OP for posting instructions in most simplistic form.
