Hi every body, i have a little issue with my oil level light, there is plenty of oil in my engin and the trucj runs fine but when the engine is at the same revs for a few minutes the oil level light flashes up but as soon as i drop or increase the revs the light goes off.... This can either be at idle or at 80mph on cruise control....

is this the right part? it looks like the oil pressure switch but says oil level sensor? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Oil-Level-Sensor-for-Mitsubishi-Shogun-82-07-/370754491586?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&fits=Model%3AShogun&hash=item5652b094c2#vi-ilComp

And just to add, it showed nothing on a snap on fault code reader only other faults that where old.

Ive already changed the oil pressure switch, the light that is coming on is the oil level light with the squiggly line under the oil can.

There was a recall for the dip sticks, there was a reason for this (can't remember) but the oil light did come on when cold after about 2 miles then went back off after another mile or do.

I'll look at mine today, there a coloured spot on the new dipstick. I'll post what the colour is & you can check yours to see if it's been changed. But phone Mits on Monday, they can check the database to see if it's been done.

Just took mine in for this it’s a recall they just change the dipstick and ad around a litre of oil. The oil level switch was put to low so to cure it they just put a smaller dipstick in.

My symptoms were the same mainly came on when I hit the motorway to work. I just rang my local dealer gave him the reg he confirmed it had not had the recall, mine is a 2003 and it is free as it is a recall they also do a 10 point check my rear brakes were 80% worn but they did not try to sell me the job.
