Impossible or i could just say simex tyres if you want up there with best.......
Is it lifted, presume the j reg in sig
Give more details, what use, just off road,or sometimes ie 20% for off road use
Big nobbles=loud noise and carp handling in general on wet roads, but awesome in deep mud
So more details please including if noise, grip on roads is important to budget and lift mods on truck to help further.
Good general 80/20 off road boots(muds) are BFG MUDS and cooper STT boots,i have latter
I picked these as quiet for a mud,got sipes for wet roads so handle well ,also good in mud, good in snow and good on rocks.Has extra protection on side walls(3rd ply) to protect from sharp rocks.
BFG m2 are excellent boots too,so there is a start |

The Khumo KL71s are very well rated for road use, stopping distances in the wet one of the best of the M/T tyres, some people not keen on wear rates although i've not had any problems and probably not as grippy in the mud as more aggressive tyres.
it will depend if you want more grip on the road or off it and how long you want them to last vs how much they cost to buy as to which ones are "best", we can all give opinions but they will all be based on our use of our vehicles.
I put the KL71s on my other half 4x4s because she doesn't really have much concept of the difficulty of stopping a 2 ton truck in the wet on knobbly tyres so I like her to have something with really nice road manners. |

Yeah as said.
ive found best 4x4 tyre for sticking to road plus quiet is deffo the kumho kl71.
I use to use general grabber at2 I think.
wasnt great towing heavy trailer or horse box in mud, fields tracks etc.
with other guys ive removed insa turbos as sidewall blows out, there a remould.
plus ive seen 4x4s loose huge squares off there treads.
I tow often and will say I cant see there being much better than a kumho kl71.
so quiet plus soft so it sticks to the road very well.
what you dont want is a high aggressive tyre thats hard.
only half the tyre is touching the road due to the air gaps.
plus if it hard its noisey.
imagine all your wheel bearings gone.
thats what ive heard in most trucks with these on.
insa turbo the same, very noisey but £50 a tyre so cheap. |

any pictures? i know lads who have been running these on and off road, including trialing with no problems....also whats a remould got to do with anything? they are made to a standard
plus ive seen 4x4s loose huge squares off there treads.
maybe a good few years ago and that was a general thing with the older remoulds that was reported on a couple of sites and people propelled it to a cult status

bfg muds, stt's, maxxis muds, grabber muds are all better than the kumhos for towing, thats from personal experience
so quiet plus soft so it sticks to the road very well.
soft tyres wear quicker,
bfg muds get astronomical mileage for a mud terrain tyre yet have great roadholding, wet performance and offroad ability. if kl71's are so good why are they junked at a quarter of the mileage?

Yes some gegs are dumped early but as soft so quiet.
I prefer kumhos to any other tyre I had. |

Only experience I have had with kl71s were on an l200 ,shocking on road for noise, worst tyre ever in the wet for sliding but as said on an l200.
Can guarantee l200 or not I will never buy a set |

Gegs if I have it will be alot of digging through tyres.
they burst on top of sidewall close to bottom of tread, split is about the width of your four fingers.
I have look today but theres huge amount of waste tyres outside. |

Ven I had a l200 in he was on insa turbos, put him on kumhos and was amazed with the noise on there compared to mine.
I think its a case of maybe no sound dense mat under carpet.
its like when you fit a cheap tyre to small car, noisey but a cheap tyre on vw no problem.
unless its to do with weight. |

Its a bit odd, we currently have them on a Surf i had them on my Vitara and believe it or not my mate runs KL71s on his 5 series bimmer in the winter never had noise or grip problems with any of them, far better on road for example than BFG A/Ts and they have a less aggressive tread, all the reviews suggest they are excellent on road too.
I'm wondering if there is something on the l200 that maybe resonates at a similar frequency but that wouldn't explain them being bad in the wet?
i suupose i could try the surfs wheels on my sport and see if they effect that in the same way.
Oh, the Khumos may be worse with weight in as they only have a two ply sidewall, i guess if you were using a heavy truck or one that was heavily loaded they may feel odd? i dunno, had the Surf full of *beep* a few times but not really twoed anything massive with them? |

A lot is on the truck they are fitted,STT are quiet for example for a mud on the mk2 but on mk3 paj they are louder.
Guess down to chassis, weight as you say and sound proofing.
My experience put me off but being honest the reviews I read we're not all good, quite a few negatives.I did plenty of research at the time for what suited my needs which differ to the next person .
The kl71s were ruled out well before I had experience of them.

Gegs, was you on about maxxis buckshot? Have you seen them Nankang n889? They are basically same tyre design as buckshot but at a fraction of the cost and they are new tyres NOT remoulds. They got a really good review in the total off road mag. |

Buckshots are good boots, but iirc chris wore his down pretty quick then went the micky thompson way.
imho you get what you pay for, right now boots wise(not over struck on the micky boots tbh) would be STT or BFG m2
But thats me |
