Hi guys and gals,

This may or may not potentially be hot topic.

After much scouring of the interwebs (none of it in English either) i think i may have just found a piece of gold for us V55 lovers.

I thought id let you know i have potentially come across the workshop manuals for the Evolution Pajero. (all in Japanese of course)

I Will over time potentially try and scan them (however i do not want to break them by folding them inside out either) and maybe find some sort of converter so that i can spread the wealth of knowledge that's within.

So far i have found some useful things like correct toe and camber etc - how to remove specific body panels. It even tells me the types of Welds that are used in the different Chassis parts. ( i have no idea why anyone would want that but it's there!)

Stay Tuned

Well Its a tricky Process converting them to English but its going to be a hell of a lot closer and easier to understand than trying to interpret Japanese Characters with no experience in Japanese other than Eating Sushi...

So far 1 book has been done, took about 2 hours for 30 pages of uploading hi end scans.

Then used OCR software (Software that scans a picture and converts the words into a word Document) like Abby Finereadear 11.

Once done then copy your extracted Japanese from your word doc and paste it into Google Translate.

Pull the translation from Google and paste it into a Word doc scanned with Pictures only where the original Japanese used to be..

Voila !

Now only another 4-500 pages to go...

Let me know if you guys need any info Scanned for you.

Quick update guys, Having some issues with the Scanning of the manuals and not trying to break the spine too bad sticking them on the flat bed, they are 17 years old....

I have taken another avenue and its quite slow, having to photograph each page and upload and try and convert... i have all manuals on JPEG now though, however not the quality i would like... Unfortunately its many many Gbs so i dont think i can host it.. I will also need to convert it to word so you guys can use Google Translate to get an idea of what they want.

Turns out there was over 500 pages of technical info i scanned / copied.

Guys i wont Sell them to you that isnt legit i dont think, id ask for a donation for the hundreds of hours devoted to turning it from hard to soft copy for you..And of course the trouble of obtaining and tracking them down from Japan for us.

Speak soon

Do you think you could persuade him to allow copies to be taken ?
Or can you get the Mitsubishi part numbers from the manuals in English
Thanks
