As above folks, don't have this pajero long and trying to get rid of the niggles, when I accelerate it starts to shudder from 1800-2100 rpms. I can't figure out out and wonder if it's serious?

Keep forgetting to add the model, it's a 2003 swb pajero 3.2 did. When I let go of the accelerator there is a slight rattle for a moment also. But it only does that judder/hesitant to rev thing while accelerating.

I'm guessing its a manual. That judder is happening at peak engine torque, I would say your imminently going to get a large bill for a new clutch and DMF.
This is the point you tell me its an auto....... Laughing

It does. When my DMF failed i had a judder at peak torque due to clutch slip. If its happening in neutral its something else

As kgrs4 said, what about when clutch is down.
I have hac dmf cause vibrations and a wobbly feeling at idle but clutch down helps level it out.
thats a good way to confirm if its dmf or not.
plus also on some you can get clutch at bite point, listen for a bang, another thing to confirm if faulty but they fail in different ways so not every flywheel gives same answer.

Thanks for the input and advice all, I'm going to get rid of it and get an automatic as I do alot of towing. The dammed thing hasn't gone right since I bought it anyway. Was spend, spend and more spend and there's no way I'm forking out for a dmf. Auto here I come. Mitsu need to get there act together with this dmf bull. Reliability is the name of the game. It's all cruisers around here but I like the pajero. Hopefully I'm luckier with an automatic

Sounds like it happening at the time the pump is changing from the slow speed side to the high speed side. Might be worth checking the speed sensors on the pump.

They are on the diesel pump where it goes on to the engine, one on the side and one on the top..
I take it the symptoms are there driving or stationary, in gear or out of gear and clutch in or out . Any other issues?

Forgot to add is the same in and out of gear. I'll check with the clutch in and out later. It's also giving a slight kick when I start it. I'm defo thinking dmf, fingers crossed it isn't though.

Kick when starting, do you mean the gear stick thrashes to side to side and if your hand is on the hand brake it would bash it?
No stalling or cutting out at junctions etc?
