Anyone got a non standard exhaust syetem fitted to their Evo?
I want to change my standard one & de-cat it but unsure of what to expect, tryin to decide between one pipe or two, one either side.

......Any suggestions?

Nah, fraid not. Would have to be a custom job.
Also sure that to de-cat it would help the evo breath better (Tunes!) but reckon it would fail an MOT because its supposed to have one fitted as standard and is too young to by-pass the Law.
Wouldn't mind a legal answer to the de-cat problem as i've often thought of taken the cat off.
Anyway, is your evo fixed now ?

Gettin it done custom is no problem anyway, id just get a full straight pipe made up but god knows the grunt that could come out of it! Only other V6 i heard with an exhaust system was a 1.6Lancer so dunno wot to expect from the 3.5 Mivec!!

As for MOT we dont have it over here we have the NCT every 2 yrs so once its passed it can be de-catted, keep the cat and put it back in 2yrs down the line again.

Problem sorted we originally thought it was the whole gearbox needed to be overhauled or Solenoids but ended up we just needed to replace the computer (not ECU)
Back like brand new with a new set of Irish plates! Smile

hey guys the evo paj would fail its MOT if you de cat it ive been here with other cars ive had. i had a mirage cyborg that i got de cat on and it just got very loud no noticable performance improvement maybe a few more horses but not much also got pulled over and told exhaust was too loud and shouldnt drive the car after 9pm or i could get a fine so ended up taking the cat by pass pipe off and getting a custom exhaust from the cat back my advice leave the cat on and get custom job from the cat back saves a lot of hassel

In Ireland we dont have MOT, as stated above we have an NCT every 2 yrs. When it gets the NCT passed i will be de-catting it & getting the custom exhaust etc.

My question thought do I go for one pipe or one either side?
And also if anyone has gotten somethin similar to their pajero Evo as a guide to the sound of it etc.

evojeepgirl i was just replying to trevor as well as he is in the UK as for the custom exhaust i would just stick with 1 or maybe twin pipes out of the same side imho i dont think 1 either side would look right. but id like to see a pic when its done. twin ovals slashed out of the same side might look nice or dtm style or hell just get a big round rolled 1. ive been quoted anything between £250 and £550 for a custom job on the paj hope that helps a bit more than my last posting

No problem!!!
The guys tat tuned my Subaru do all the custom work & make up the pipes etc, for doing 2x one each side, straight back from manifold @ €800 odd incl the backboxes.

I just dont know what would look better 1either side, 2 either side or just the one Confused
Also got the chrome mudflaps for special occasions which will look well with the exhausts. Wink

just to add my 2 penny? Razz

i am also looking to replace my exhaust on the evo...
would like to know the outcome...... Rolling Eyes

but the old Kat will be coming out for sure.....

to say that you would not notice a differance??with removing the kat..well all i can say is..have you ever tried running up hill with a mouth full of cotton wool..... Shocked
well this is what a kat does to your engine.....
take it out and you realease all that energy?
a must in my opinion........

in new zealand they have banned the kat as, when they are broken or knackard?
thay chuck out even more pollution......

anyway happynew year u all....... Very Happy

i still say removing the cat doesnt make that much differance it didnt on my cyborg anyway id be interested to see the before and after results on a rolling road for the paj. ive seen the results for a 2.0 cav and that was minimal ok if your going all out for max bhp but as a 1 off mod for everyday use it just makes your car loud and u will have to put the *beep* back on everytime it needs moting

havent tryed running up hill with a mouth full of cotton wool hows that feel ??????
