We're working on a scheme to provide an independent valuation certificate ...

This will be annually appraised and for around £20 a year you will get an independent valuation certificate that can be used in the event of a claim.

This will require some information from you, including a current photo and the mileage ... I'm still discussing any additional requirements.

Let me know if you're interested?

Excellent idea. Just spent a small fortune re-building mine and now fairly mint - would be gutted if Insurance offered me market value for a write off!

Would the valuation be accurate though without an inspection?

Forgive me for being cynical but insurance would just worm their way out of something like that unless your claim was on the exact day that the valuation was made.

Also how could this be done without someone seeing the vehicle, mileage and photo's prove nothing, bit of airbrushing here and there. What would the value be based upon who's book?

Great idea in principal but I doubt very much that any insurance company would take any notice of it.

With the agreed value insurance on my carlton that is the agreed value they will pay when covered in that 12 month period.

Great idea - in principle. I reckon the company would say 'so what' we don't recognise it. I reckon it would have to be physically inspected by someone, and that person would also need some sort of accreditation in that field, for it to have any use in the event of a claim.

Simon,

This is a brilliant idea. I already have a Independent Valuation Cert for my Audi Quattro Turbo as this car is classed as a modern classic.
Is the pajero a modern classic ?

WARNING.....when and if the insurance company agrees to the value you must, repeat must check the policy to make sure that they have actually put the amount in figures and words of the agreed value.
In the event of a claim from some Quattro Owners Club members, some owners have fallen foul of this value because it simply wasnt put on the Policy, even though the have shown the cert to the insurers.

Buyer beware !!!
