This sounds like a great idea providing the Insurance Company recognise the validity of the valuation, presumably the club insurer would. As a member stated quite correctly earlier, the traditional method of making sure that the insurance company payment is equal to the price you paid (or its worth) is to take out GAP insurance. |

Yes please the sooner the better. Female reversing hubbies 7 series BMW out of her drive managed to let me get alongside before hitting the go pedal with all her might. Totally creamed all the nearside "doing" the A and B posts and creasing the floor. Hence "not economical to repair." They have made an interim payment and it has cost me that plus £2000 to replace my Paj with one 5 months younger than my original. Then I have had to go about getting alarms, tow bars, wind deflectors etc etc etc fitted. Very dissapointed with both insurance broker and ins company who between them although they term it a no fault accident have charged me £37.50 to alter my new reg for the old which they wrote off! Also been without a vehicle for 10 weeks but still had insurance to pay. Please get this off the ground asap. I have even had BIMTA fighting my case with the ins company but they still dont seem to want to budge.

If a car is written off you will find the rule of thumb is Trade price paid out.
You can knock off £1000-£1500 at least on normal sale price.
When you tell the Insurance what you think the car is worth under normal quotes you will find it has no relationship to what is paid out.
Value Cert will only be recognised by some Insurance Companys, at a price.
But I hope the club gets a deal!

Thanks for another great idea Simon,
I made up a list of all the non stock/standard upgrades I made and the cost of the upgrade. Also stated that I had receipts for those amounts.
Gave this list to my insurance company and requested it be insured for the replacement cost. My insurance premium increased but they agreed to the valuation. |

Hi All,
Just a thought,
We all hate paying insurance, especially if it comes to a claim......hassle hassle hassle,...they are quick enough to take you're money , but try and get it back out of them...well laughable..!!.
Hears the deal........( don't know the legalities of this ) but the answer is staring you in the face.
Start our own Insurance Company For Pajeros....it may seem silly but nothing is impossible and would have many benefits.
1. 9357 registered members......if every member has a pajero / shogun etc and pays £100...
firstly......thats £935,700 into the bank.
2. we all get cheap insurance.
3. If any claim is made a member can go out and get a new paj with no hassle.
3a. An agreed price for the Paj
4.compound interest from the bank would probably net around another 50 - 60k per annum
5. members could expect a divided on profits each year
so on so on
IT WAS JUST A THOUGHT.....
Cheers........Be Lucky
