Hi
I've only just joined today but have owned 2 diesel Shoguns and just sold my 3500 Pajero Exceed. I've used the forums loads of times for info but have never needed to ask anyone a question due to the sheer amount of technical information already available here.

Anyway, in March I couldn't resist a fresh low mileage Japanese import Evolution as its been a long standing itch I needed to scratch. I havent been disappointed. I decided to run it for a month or so to see what niggles I would need to sort out. Thankfully the answer is none, apart from a small electic mirror issue. So all good.

Like most Jap imports, there is not much in the way of history (that I can understand anyway) but the advertised mileage (77,000kms / 43,000 miles) seems believable looking at the condition. Also I have just replaced the OE tyres, not due to wear, but for cracks and signs of perishing.

Not wanting to continue living on borrowed time, I would now like to get a big service and the cam belt/water pump done. The noises coming from the mechanic at the garage I have always used, did not fill me with much confidence.

Im up in Lancashire and wondered if anyone could recommend (from experience) anyone vaguely in this part of the world who has knowledge of these things.
