Any one know or can point me in the right direction to find what the fuel pressure should be on the pajero evolution? mine has a race tank and pump but seems to be putting way to much fuel in to the engine.
Thanks Lee. |

think the standard pump is 49/50 psi....i know a lot of boy racers who fit bigger pumps (ie walbro etc) but neglect the pressure regulator,as they should really fit an adjustable one and have it set up on a proper rolling road....
maybe remove the pump in the tank and see what has been fitted, and google any no,s on it,then consider either getting the standard pump or adjustable regulator...if it,s the standard pump in it you may have a faulty regulator |

A walbro pump will outflow the stock regulator. It should be just over 3 bar , maybe 46ish PSI with the vac line off, it should drop 10PSI to about 36PSI with the vac line back on and the engine idling. |

Thanks again, The pump is a sytec which from what I read is the same as a welbro, can not see any numbers etc on it to say psi etc, it does not look like there is a regulator, any advice on what regulator I should fit?
Thanks Lee. |

The regulator is on the end of one of the fuel rails, at the back. |

Is it over fueling at WOT or just normal driving? |

Yes as above, the engine is apart it needs rings and the bores honeing, apart from that the engine is very good and is for sale. The rest of the car I am keeping and have just bought a bmw 3 litre stright 6 diesel M57 engine I am going to graft in to the car, just trying to decide if the gearbox which is a manual from a pajero 3.0 v6 petrol will be strong enough for the new engine.
No doubt people are wondering why not just fix the Evolution engine? well I mainly want this car for some of the smaller rally raids where you have big miles between re fuel the bmw engine will use half the amount of fuel the Evolution engine will so only need half the size tank. Also the engines or spares are readily available and cheap compared to the evolution engine's and parts. |

Thanks for the offer but "test point" for what sorry you lost me
Maybe reffering to fuel pressure for the evolution engine? as I say above not using that engine now.
Thanks Lee. |
