My Pajero evolution was an auto tiptronic but had the gearbox changed for a manual but I believe it is a standard pajero gearbox, it is used in rallys etc so has a hard time, is the proper pajero evo gearbox a lot stronger than the normal pajero one? are the ratios any different? Or is there a different gearbox I could use with out spending a fortune?

Thanks Lee.

Personally I would stick to an auto box reason being there is so much torque on a 2 ton 280 horse machine that the auto box allows for slippage in the clutches, with a manual your looking at replacing something every now and then, Mitsubishi supply auto box for £4500 but the DI-d has same box, V5A51,   the number will be stamped on the right hand side of the box as there is a 4 speed the V4A51.    it is Hyundai and transmission type is stamped on the left bulk head.

The set up is as good as the weakest link.    Ask yourself why all the yanky muscle cars have auto's !

clock

JT autos in sussex can supply one for around £2700
