Hey all,

New to the site, I thought i would start a build thread for my sport and load up what i have done so far.

The idea always was to make it so i can take my wife away in it to Europe with out the need of hotels or ROADS...

Ill try and put as much detail in as i can remember along with the photos ofc.

Stay Tuned.....

I bought my Challenger on a wednesday and set off the following saturday for Tuscany with camping gear but a mattress from a "Z-bed" in the back. We slept in the back of the truck most nights either wild or on campsites. We only used the tent a couple of times during the whole trip. With the rear seats folded and the front seats pushed forward there was plenty of length for the bed and the wheel arches didnt intrude too much, so it was pretty comfortable.
We used this arrangement for numerous weekend trips when back in the UK. The only problem then was what to do in North West Scotland in November in the pishing rain after 4.00 pm when it was dark Rolling Eyes with a wet dog ( Border Terrier so not too big) and wet walking gear. Otherwise it was fine without any "Expedition" mods.

I did fit 16" warrior wheels with 265/75/16 BFG A/T's and 9" Hella's but that was about it.

I look forward to seeing your project taking shape

OK so this build may confuse a little, for reasons that will get explained later lol,

And to top it all off i cannot find the few pictures of the old girl as standard lol

Nearly as soon as i got her, changed the Sidelight bulbs

I fly eyed the lights,

And gave the Steering guard a coat of paint. That just happened to be in the shed lol

I like the FlyEyes - I put it on a set of headlamp protectors so I can return to clear headlights if I need to.

On the sports, there is no interior lights from the opening of the drivers door.

Well that just wont do,

Swapped the live feeds for earth and ran a switch wire to the door switch.

No dome lights in the headlining? On my Challenger the front dome light comes on when the front doors are opened. I expect the rear one should too, but it doesn't work and I haven't bothered to fix it.

But neat to have the map lights come on with the doors opening. Good trick!  Smile

Power cable to the Rear, For sound system and rear lights

To avoid much drilling and cutting i ran the switch wires behind all the panels head lining and boot cable points. What a PITA.....

Result was well worth the time though.
