|
|
For a 2007 LWB UK Shogun (Warrior)
Apologies if this has been covered before but I could only find stuff on an earlier model with the "search".
Before I pull things apart is there a switched live in the headliner above the front interior light / reading light? Based on another thread this would seem the neatest and shortest route to power a dashcam so any advice appreciated.
And while you're here - any thoughts on a small dashcam that you would recommend.
Thanks,
Chris |

I fitted one of THESE to my MkII. It is small and sticks to the screen on a very neat bracket - the cam slides off the bracket if you need to remove it.
I picked up a switched live from the sunroof switch iirc and threaded it above the roof lining- so you may be able to do the same on your model, if you have a sunroof of course. I fitted a 12v to 5v converter module to power the cam. |

I think I saw your post on the fitting which made me want to follow the same approach. Mine's a 2007 model and I don't have a sunroof. I just wondered if there is a switched live hiding in the headliner that I could pick up for the camera. |

I was hoping to find a switched live on the lamp near the windscreen on mine but there wasn't one - which is why I had to connect to the sunroof one.
Unfortunately I don't know your model so it maybe a case of getting a test lamp or multimeter and testing the wires after removing the light. |

I've got a Nextbase 312gw in mine. Used the genuine hardwire kit which is a 5 min job. Comes on when the ignition is on, off when it's not. It's just a piggy back fuse plug, so take a fuse out, put the plug in the fuse socket and put the original fuse back in the back of the plug, then just put the -'ve spade behind a bolt to make the earth. Run the wire up the A pillar and done. |

Well better later than never - apologies for not replying but I took your route - easy to fit and works perfectly. I just had to get them to send me a sticky mount pad rather than use the larger suction pad.
Thank you |
