It's working fine for me - except for the annoying pop-up adverts.

You maybe on a different server - Photobucket have been doing some changes lately.

It went funny on me a few weeks ago - none of my photos were showing in posts but then it was fine the next day.

Photobucket is fine for me too. I got so annoyed with the ads that I coughed up for the ad-free service.

Storage is so cheap now that it makes no sense that this forum doesn't host images. If it did, no images would be lost when members or ex-members close their Photobucket or other accounts. There are plenty of websites that offer free forum hosting, so if the Admin doesn't want to invest in capacity it could easily be moved to another host.

i agree with you there Simon but i very much doubt this forum would move anywhere..one Simon who started the forum does so at his expense with members maybe paying a membership..but most don,t plus a lot of people use the pocuk on face-ache..and my personal opinion is this forum might end up being closed down i hope i am wrong, but this last few years it seems to be rather quiet apart from us regulars who come on here as part of our daily routine sort of speak.. Exclamation

I honestly don't think it is that.
This is what I just got in my email.

Your account has been restricted for 3rd party hosting.
Don't worry, your photos are safe.
In order to restore 3rd Party Hosting,
please upgrade to our Plus 500 Membership.

I believe the membership costs.

I have lost so many pics that I have lost count showing what I have done on the forums I visit over the last ten years or so.
Complete threads all wiped out.

This is really concerning. It does seem that Photobucket has disallowed '3rd Party Hosting' for all except the Plus 500 plan.  This is a $499.99 service!  Shocked

So just to make it clear, this is alternatively referred to as "hotlinking". This is the action of linking to an image or object on another server. An example of hotlinking would be using an <img> tag to display a JPEG image that you uploaded to your Photobucket account so it will appear on a different website like Etsy, eBay auction listings, blogs, forum messages, etc.

When this is applied to images that have already been linked, it means that the vast majority of images posted on the forum will be wiped out, destroying much of the forum's value as a resource.
