Don't know what p***d the RAC guy off, but we bought a Subaru Forester STb (grey import) from John, and have found him nothing but helpful, courteous and kind. 
He got our scooby serviced at trade price for us (less than 1/3 price quoted more locally to us by anyone who would touch the import!). 
When the turbo developed a slight problem after the servicing (connection of some sort) he got it sorted promptly.
Scooby has never been better!
Obviously, everyone has different experiences.  |

this sort of information should be based on fact, not heresay!
The RAC guy may be right, but unless you know for sure that what he's said is true, it's unfair to publish it here ... I'm sorry, but I've had to edit your post.
