My Pajero was parked in the work carpark and a lorry reversed today knocked over a bollard which then hit my pajero damaging the front wing. Lorry driver just drove off without asking whos car he had damaged. Luckily i was able to roll back the cctv and got the footage. So i called the company and they asked for the footage which i sent and they admitted liability and apologised for the damage then gave me the insurance details to get my car repaired.
Im now thinking who can repair it as its 20 year old (Needs new wheel arch from what i can see.
Will insurance companies repair my 20 year old pajero or just write it off?

Get two or three estimates for the repair and send them to the lorry company and see what happens.
If it's just the front wing then it isn't a difficult job. |

Its the plastic arch which is scraped and pushed in which has deformed the plastic arch. The wing itself looks undamaged so its just the arch and then painting it the correct colour.
Was wondering if bodyshops will source the part and paint it to match or would it have to be a used part given its age. Im nervous about ringing my insurance company incase they write it off which i dont want to happen

You won't be claiming off your insurance so they will not be involved - but you are supposed to let them know about it. |

I call that a scuff!
Any body shop can do that easily.
It can be repaired without changing the arch extension - some flexible filler for plastic bumpers to fill the mark - sand to shape and repaint.
I had worse on my bumper end caps (done by previous owner) - I repaired it myself and repainted with colour matches aerosols. |

I will take it to a body shop to see how much it will cost to repair

As above , before I saw your pics I thought the whole front wing was going to be stoved in, not the point though really, your wheel arch was perfectly fine before some numpty decided to bring down a pole on it, and even sodded off after the event, no way you should have any expense. |

The lorry drivers insurance called me today to arrange to get my Pajero fixed and give me a car to get about in till its fixed.
Hopefully they will take it next week so i can still use it with the snow forecast.
