Hi. Thanks for adding me to the page.

Have trawled the posts for 2 days looking for answers before posting so as not to be repeating a question but can't find the info I need.

Car: 2001 Shogun mk3 3.2 DI-D, auto, 5 door, 90k miles, UK RHD model

Me: handy enough but no auto-electrician

Issue: rev counter/ tachometer not working > not a kick in it. Only other issue is SRS light constantly on (need diagnostic to see what's up with that)

Self help tried so far:
1) checked fuses, removed clocks & inspected rev counter, plug and socket,
2) installed 2 other sets of 2nd hand clocks but same issue remained
3) 12.37V across the battery and car starting with no issues
4) inspected connections at alternator
5) reviewed wiring diagrams till eyes jumping out of my head!

My understanding of system based on posts I have read here:
1) electronic rev counter fed from alternator > W terminal
2) from the wiring diagrams > terminal 'L' on the alternator goes to pin 2 on plug B-58

Info requested/ questions:
1a) please confirm the rev counter fed comes from one of the pins on the plug into the alternator > which one?
1b) is the 'W' terminal one of the pins in the 2-pin plug on the alternator
2) how can I test this with basic multi-meter
3) other suggestions as to what next? new alternator?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can give > it will be massively appreciated! and apologises if this info is on the page somewhere that I have missed.

Regards,
Sammy
