OK guys I have searched I promise
Just getting round to fitting my Amateur radio and CB. I had a Raynet duty Sunday so I fitted the VHF/UHF radio and popped a mag mount on the roof. I am not a fan of mag mounts so have ordered a gutter mount for my VHF/UHF, but was thinking of fitting the CB aerial on the bullbar as it is a bit of a beast and would have trouble getting under the trees in our drive.
Has anyone done this and what mount did they use... pictures would be great as well as where you got the mount from.
I was thinking of this one but only really want the mount without cable - Bullbar Mount
Or what else do you suggest? I don't want to drill holes in the bodywork.
Cheers chaps... |

I have decided to have a go at making my own Bullbar mount. I have bought a 2in aerial mast clamp and I have some metal strip, so will cut and drill to suit. It would cost £3 to make |

I would check with your insurance whether they class it as a modification - also whether it is allowed under the new MOT rules.
They don't like additions with possibly the chance of injuring pedestrians. |

I thought bull bars were banned in the UK?
Something about pedestrian safety? |

Nope - they are still legal on older vehicles (pre 1997 I think) |

I contacted my MOT guy and Adrian Flux and both are happy with a CB aerial mounted on the bullbar. AF said to notify them if and when it is fitted so they can add it to my policy. |
