OK so this was on a mainstream comparison site, but that's still a hefty premium for an identical vehicle that just happened to be first used on the other side of the world
Anyone know what makes an import such a blank cheque? |

You'd think these darned meerkats would have learnt by now!
In fairness to Harvey Keitel's current employers, Direct Line came to within a few pence of A-Plan's price for the Pajero Mini in spite of its being JDM only, but the main reason I went with A-Plan in the end was that they added the tiny Mitsubishi to my key policy on mirrored NCD terms which few, if any other insurers could do.
It appears that the online comparison algorithms fail to take into account that no matter how many cars a person owns, it's actually really difficult to drive more than one of them at any one time.. |

they all seem to think Pajero,s are special and that parts are different,99.6% of parts are identical to shogun except for the fact things like the heating and control system as nearly all pajero,s are digital only certain shoguns had it same with adjustable shock absorbers some shoguns had it as a spec like a diamond option most pajero,s came with it not all though, then the rear lights shoguns have them in the rear bumper,a directive of the EU because the high up lights on the drivers side may be obscured by the spare wheel, pajero,s do not have rear fog lights so the comparison is few and far between except the shoguns will rot quicker due to being made from Spanish steel and being in the UK longer with our highly corrosive road salt put down in the winter,Japanese Steel is better and they don,t use road salt...but insurance companies and garages all like to think Pajero,s are a hard vehicle to deal with for parts and also valuation,Parker's which is the main stream valuation that auction houses and the motor trade tend to use do not list valuations for imports....bit like my mk2 gdi in 2009 i paid just shy of 2k so in reality the value has gone down maybe to 1500 to 1000 which is reality for a 21 year old vehicle but yet idiots on certain auction sites are selling the same vehicle for £2500 upwards and they have been in the country longer than mine....the downside for any import regardless of how much you paid and it,s true worth if you have financial difficulty and end up going bankrupt or on any sort of debt order getting a true value is rock hard even for the official receiver which is probably why insurance is so screwed up on prices |
