I was wondering if anyone could help me with a very annoying sat nav problem.
Every time I start the car, it shows me as being at the Cenotaph in London.  Both the cd's are good, I have disc 2 in as I'm south England.
When I go into the settings to get it to show me my location it gives me the details of where it thinks I am, when I drive it moves but is always wrong.
If I go to look up satellite info, it does absolutely nothing. It doesn't change the screen or go into another, but to move the menu again I have to click back on the remote as if it thinks I am in a different screen.
The discs are the correct ones (MZ312088) and are NOS.
If I enter a postcode to navigate it also starts the navigation procedure but simply does not seem to know where I am and it's like it's guessing..

Anyone had this before or any thoughts on what to check or how to possibly fix?

No expert but I would say the GPS receiver isn’t working. The home address in the settings is just stored information and it will show this on the map.
Try disconnecting the power to it for 5 mins and see if it performs a reset.

I tried disconnecting the battery for about 10 mins, it made no odds.
If it's GPS issue, is it worth trying to unplug the gps aerial from the back ofthe cd drive under the passenger footwell and trying another one?

Or does anyone know if it's possible to run somethinglike a continuity test on the cable to check for knackered wire?
