Just been away camping in my new trailer tent (new for me)  but on the way back i went up a steep hill,  i ended up going really slow had lack of power, then the EML came on then the traction control light flashed up. Got to the top of the hill truck sped up traction control light went off but the eml stayed on till i restarted the car.  Does anybody have a clue whats wrong I'm thinking the EGR may need a clean up anybody have any other thougths?

When I get chance i'll give it a good clean, never done a mk3 so i know it wont be the same as the mk2's was, and to be honest wasn't that hard so fingers crossed.

I actually haven't cleaned it yet but i did find a problem. The manifold where the egr bolts into, (air inlet side, aft end of the engine) was missing a bolt and the other one was loose (almost fell out) so i replaced the missing bolt and tightened up the other one and now the car has more power and acceleration and since that i haven't seen the eml light or had no loss of power since but i haven't towed my trailer tent for a while.
