Just for information to help any others that encounter this issue.

UK Shogun 3.2 Did Auto 150k miles, drove to work and parked without issue.
After work, she wouldn't turn, wouldn't start.
All lights were normal, but when the key turned she did nothing.
The gear selector was heavy but I found that she would start in Neutral but not in Park.
However she would not shift to Drive.
The indicator light on the right of the dash showed she was still in N when the selector was in D.

So I Googled it and came here and searched and had to dismiss some things first.
The immobiliser that was a red herring, the loose battery terminals, the fuses the relays and so on.

Eventually the posts about Inhibitor Switch and Neutral Safety Switch made sense.
I read them and followed the links and watched YT videos.

To fix it I had to locate the toolkit first.
That is in a raised plastic compartment in the left corner of the space under the rear folding seats.
Engine OFF.
Put the gear selector in Neutral.
Then I found the Neutral safety  switch under the passenger (left side) and sprayed it with WD40.
The hole in the manual control lever was already aligned with the hole in the switch body so she needed adjustment in the linkage.
So, loosening the assembly I was able to take up a minuscule amount of slack in the cable.
Maybe just an eighth of an inch at most, that was all it took.

From below I knew it had worked because I heard her drop into drive.
Tightened up and taken out for a test drive and all is good.

It is easy to say thank you but it is important, Thanks to all for sharing.
Without your help I would still be stranded now.
Without you guys I was stuffed for Christmas.

Cheers,
Ring0
