Hello.
I have a 1997 SWB Pajero 2.8td. Over the 14 years I have owned it I have had very few problems from it and all of those relatively minor. However I am now getting a repetitive problem when I try to start it. It goes like this :- I put the ignition key in and turn on the dashboard ignition lights which immediately come on. When I turn the key further to start the engine the vehicle loses all electrical energy entirely (as if I had disconnected the battery). I then get out of the vehicle, raise the bonnet and completely remove both battery leads from the battery. I then reconnect both leads, get back in the vehicle, turn on the ignition and start the engine. It starts perfectly.

I am a recently joined member and as yet unfamiliar with the forum layout so it could be that this problem has been listed previously, If it has I apologise but never-the-less would be grateful if any one could advise me of the technical issues at play here and how I can rectify the problem.
