I can not believe how simple this was and total cost of £12.50

after searching for hours on here and on the net for a solution with no real answer i came across this bit of kit on "Ebay" 251146024477 "only £12.50" so thought what the hell go for it and see.

The vehicle is a 2006 Shogun Sport 2.5TD (Warrior) Manual gear box

so here we go

tools required
8mm socket (for the under dash removal)
10mm socket (for the earth bolt removal)
Phillips screwdriver
side cutters/pliers
electrical connector crimping tool
3x scoth locks
1x 8mm (yellow electrical ring connector)

the c/l unit comes with quite a few wires but you only use 6
wires used
white
blue
red
black
brown
orange (optional but i will come to that later)
as for all the others trim back to a manageable length and cable tie together.

white and blue wires
under the drivers side dash to the right of the accelerator pedal you will see the fuse box, on the left side of the fuse (as you look at it) you will see a white connector plug going into the side. (this is the elusive central locking relay/control which is piggy backed onto the back of the fuse box)
the plug has 5 wires on it
blue/brown
blue/black
2x black brown (these are the wires we need to splice into)
and a full black.

as you look at the plug you will see 1 of the black/brown wires is obviously lower in the block "this is the wire you need to scotch lock the white wire from the c/l unit to"
the other black/brown wire you scotch lock the blue wire from the c/l unit to

you now need to join the black and the brown wires together with a 8mm "yellow" ring electrical terminal "these wires need to go to a good vehicle earth" as you look behind the center console you will see a nice 10mm bolt which can be used to make your earth.
next find the permanent live feed from the back of the cd player (position 10 red wire) and scotch lock the red fused wire from the c/l unit
now time to test. plug the c/l loom into the c/l unit close the door and test the unlock and lock functions. if all works as it should all that is left is to position the c/l unit. ( i found by just popping out the center console there was a mass of free space to house the c/l unit. simply unscrew the gear leaver and the 4x4 leaver knobs and pop the console out, there are no screws!
the orange wire is for indicator or light flash on press of the key fob. (i have not connected this yet but intend to feed the orange up behind the hazard switch so the hazards flash on lock and unlock)

it took me less than an hour to complete (note i did spend over an hour before hand with a voltage probe finding the correct wires)
I have written this as simply as i can, if you have any questions please feel free to ask.
I keep going out and locking/unlocking the vehicle thinking it will break or stop working but it hasn't yet.

Good luck.....
Darren

Darren,

Can you tell me what signals match what wires on your c/l unit loom as the colours on yours are different from the one I have.

For example blue on mine is the feed to the indicators for visible arm/disarm & I dont have a brown wire at all.

I have 6 wires for the central locking ....

Close signal .... NC - Orange, Com - White, NO - Yellow

Open Signal .... NC - Orange/Black, Com - White/Black, NO - Yellow/Black

Red is live, black earth as standard.

I've attached the diagram with the unit if that helps or at least tried to but it wont let me due to file size despite it being under 1MB.

Darren,

Thats brilliant thanks. Cleared things up perfectly.

The orange, orange/black relate to the pink & violet respectively.

The yellow, yellow/black relate to the brown respectively.(for -ve trigger)

The white, white/black relate to the blue & white respectively.

Red is constant +12v, black is ground, blue(on mine) is indicator signal line x 2, pink(on mine) is trunk/boot release.

Now all I need is good weather to get time to fit the kit.

Thanks again.

Andrew

Hi
I've just bought a shogun sport 2.5td 2002. My car cl works from the key inserted in drivers door. I would like to go down the route of installing a remote. Can you tell me if this is the white multi block your talking about

The reason I'm asking is there are six wires and no solid black
Thanks Tony

Hi Darren, thanks that's exactly what I'm looking at on mine. Fingers crossed I should have this wired up soon.

Hi Darren would you still know the make model of the unit you bought? Can't seem to get the link to work and searching the item number on flee bay is coming up blank. I'm hoping that it doesn't really matter on which unit but courious all the same.

Thanks Tony

Tony,

The only wires you'll need to connect to on the white plug are the 2 black/brown as per Darren's picture. These are the signal wires to open & close the locking.

I've had mine working since May now with no problems.

Hi,
So just to make perfectly sure.

On mine, I connect brown and white wires to each of these black/brown and then red to live and black to earth. And on my diagram what is the brown white control switch ?

Thanks Tony

Tony,

I can only assume the control switch is an overide? Activation will be through the remote fobs & the unit should have an aerial wire.

Where did you get the kit from?

Hi Tony, here is the wiring diagram for my unit, you should be able to work it out from that.

Regards

Hi Andrew, I got the kit from flee bay. It's a Cyclone universal kit. Seems easy enough to fit if I was fitting it as it should be to the diagram. However when I seen this thread I thought it was an easier way of doing it.
Didn't fancy my chances of pulling cables through the car and into the door to be honest!

If you already have central locking you shouldn't need to do any wiring to the doors.

It's simply a matter of connecting the correct wires to the plug as Darren & you pictured then adding power and an earth.
